About Me

I reside in Sechelt on the beautiful Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, a short ferry trip north of Vancouver. I'm retired after a 30+ year career as a pharmacist.

I'm a largely self-taught creator of small wood bowls, platters, boxes, toys, and ornaments using a combination of lathe, scroll saw, and band saw. I often embellish these using different species and colours of wood, wood burning, staining, and painting. Lately, I have become interested in 'basket illusion' turning where the finished piece resembles a woven basket.

I draw my inspiration from many sources, including the wood itself, the landscape and animals around where I live, and the interplay of geometric patterns.

I'm an active member of the Suncoast Woodcrafters Guild, the American Association of Woodturners, the Greater Vancouver Woodturners Guild, the Coast Cultural Alliance, and the Sunshine Coast Arts Council.
